Well, the Holidays are over. But, the winter season is still in full swing. For many of us, winter is a great time of year for entertaining at home and gathering friends around the table. It’s a great time for everyone to relax, enjoy delicious foods, and catch up after the busy holiday season.

We love creating warm and cozy winter table settings. And for those who enjoy setting a table with a winter theme, we created four winter tablescapes to inspire you, along with some tips to achieve the same look. So, gather your dishware and silverware, and let’s get started!

Snowy White

Ridge silverware

Just because the holidays are over, that doesn’t mean we have to stop celebrating the beauty of winter! Dressing up your table in winter whites adds sparkle and sophistication to your parties and gatherings.

Creating a snowy white table setting is not all about neutrals. You can create lovely color contrasts by tossing in some greenery with a floral centerpiece or adding some frosted blue dishware for that cool, wintery touch. And don’t underestimate the importance of your silverware set for making this tablescape really pop. Here are some tips and ideas for creating a dreamy snowy white winter tablescape:

Pick a theme. From a woodsy forest to a winter nesting theme complete with elegant white birds, there are many themes you can adopt for your snowy white tablescape.

Set the snowy scene. While a beautiful wood table is always a lovely backdrop to most tablescapes, with a snowy white table, we suggest a white tablecloth or runner. When it comes to white as a color, there are many hues to choose from, so even if your tablecloth and napkins are different tones, the overall look will be harmonious and balanced.

Throw out the rule book. When it comes to setting a special table for you and your guests, have some fun by thinking outside the box. Go ahead and add some faux snow to your centerpiece to give it an ethereal look.

Blue and White

Camellia silverware

Blue and white tablescapes for winter are the ultimate combination of cool blues and crisp whites. If you’ve always considered this color combination as more of a spring thing, think again! Blue and white table settings are timeless and bring a serene, elegant aesthetic to your winter table.

Does the idea of a blue and white winter tablescape intrigue you? Here’s why you should give this a try:

Beauty on a budget. Blue and white dishware is abundant and affordable and a popular item for those who like shopping in vintage stores.

Versatility: Blue and white transferware china patterns come in different themes, including landscapes, Nordic-inspired, Onion (an onion or bulb-like motif), floral, and Chinoiserie patterns inspired by Chinese art.

Mix and match with perfection: The design trend continues to grow, especially with blue and white dishware. We can’t think of a better way to express your style!

Rustic Charm

Twig silverware

When you think of a rustic tablescape do you think of something minimalist and harsh? You’ll be glad to know that in the interior design world, the term rustic elegance describes a homey and chic style. Think comfortable with a bit of glam thrown in. Here’s how to get this look:

Natural elements. One of the quickest ways to achieve this look is to feature natural elements on your table. Wood, stone, and metal work nicely together to create this look.

Repeat that, please! Our eyes are attracted to repeated patterns or elements in tablescapes, which enhances their visual appeal.

Rustic tablesetting with Twig black silverware

This rustic winter table setting features charming repetitive patterns, such as scalloped edges and organic curves. While not identical, the beaded edge of the soup bowl, the organic wave of the plate, and the natural variations in the bark rim of the wooden placemat come together to create an appealing visual.

The Twig hammered flatware collection is named for its curvy, twig-like handles. The matte black handles of this rustic silverware provide a handsome contrast to the light wood table and neutral dishware.

Mixed Metals

Plateau silverware

Whether you are using a modern artisan silverware set or a more rustic silverware style, one of the things we love the most about mixed metals table settings is that they make all the pieces on your table look like they’ve been collected over the years. It’s also one of the easiest ways to incorporate textures and add sparkle and warmth to your winter table.

Designing a mixed metal tablescape can be lots of fun, and our first tip is not to overthink it! After all, the idea is to create something with a pop of personality that you and your guests will enjoy. Here are more helpful tips for your mixed metal table settings:

Choose one dominant metal. That is not to say you can’t mix it up, but having a main metal will keep things grounded and since most of us have our preferences, it won’t be hard to choose your main character.

Create contrast. If gold is your main metal, you’ll want to contrast it with cool metals like chrome and silver. Mixing metals is all about combining warm and cool tones that link everything together effortlessly, from your centerpiece to your silverware.

Don’t underestimate texture. Using different textured metals will add visual interest to the table. When you combine matte, polished, and hammered finishes it creates a visually rich atmosphere, to say nothing of the sensory experience of eating a meal with artisan hammered flatware.
