The matte black flatware is absolutely gorgeous! I wish the serving pieces came in black too, but they are also nice in silver.

I got the Nascent Steel 2 piece set. I love the rustic look and solid feel in your hand. The reason for only four stars was a flaw in the knife? Looks like a chip or smudge snd I have left two messages and sent an email but still have not heard back from Inox?
I love this silverware! Purchased sets for 12 table settings, 2 sets of serving utensils, and 1 cake serving set.
We didn't want the typical looking and overly thinned flatware, so we researched and stumbled upon Inox. It's great that the flatware is finished by artisans. Each piece looks very unique, and it's nice to know that it doesn't come from a Chinese factory of slave labor. The pieces look like fine flatware made in Italy or Germany, but for a mere fraction of the price.
Each piece is hefty and substantial, throughout. The back is flat so that each piece sits nicely on the table. Feels great in the hand. By accident we originally received a copper finish set when we first ordered on Amazon. That finish seemed cheap and lacquered. They need to improve it. But the nascent steel finish is great. It transitions nicely from the matte handle to the mirror finish of the usable end. The only improvement is that the fork tines could stand to be a little sharper.
We haven't yet cleaned it in the dishwasher, so we cannot comment on that.
I hope Inox continues to offer more flatware pieces in this pattern and finish - it's truly our favorite.
