It's Libra Season! How to Set the Table for Libra

Oct 09, 2024Swati Singh

Happy birthday, Libra! If you were born September 23 – October 22, you belong to this Zodiac sign.

Element: Air Quality: Cardinal Ruling Planet: Venus Ruling House: Seventh

Libras are ruled by Venus, which is the planet of love and beauty, so this sign is naturally drawn to designing, planning parties, couples therapy, and law-making.

When it comes to decorating, if a space is too sparse or too cluttered, they will use their strong sense of balance to create something more visually pleasing.

We took their love for art and their passion for the balance of colors and textures to create a place setting just for Libra.

Positive Traits and Talents

Libras are the Zodiac peacemakers with an uncanny skill for seeing everyone’s perspectives and finding that middle ground everyone can live with. They naturally know how to create environments where communication flows, which makes them good at negotiations and mediation.

With Venus as their ruler, Libras value love, companionship, and beauty. They are very social, charming, and often artistic. And since they put so much importance on love, once in love they tend to play for keeps.

Libra people look at the bright side of life, with an optimism that can rub off on others.

Libra's Challenges

With their desire to make people happy, the Libra can sometimes say yes to something, when they really should be saying no. If you have a Libra friend, be sure they aren’t always deferring to you, as they don’t often put their own needs first.

From time to time, your Libra friend lacks motivation and will spend a lot of time on things that you don’t consider important. This laziness can be frustrating if you’re someone who wants to get things done.

The Libra’s love for beauty over substance can make them seem judgmental and even critical.

What is a Libra’s Design Style?

Libras are all about balance, so they have a transitional style, a combination of traditional and contemporary styles. They like to use both natural and manmade materials. Luxurious materials like velvet, silk, and satin play well with these Venusians- just be sure to pair them with cozy fabrics for a Libra to curl up in at the end of a long day.

With an artistic side, a Libra will feel most at home around light and playful colors, with dark colors adding a bold contrast. Libras won’t like too much of the same color, so a balance of colors in different shades will work well.

While they do like art, they don’t like too much of anything, so there is usually a focus on simplicity and symmetry throughout the home. They enjoy urban chic but appreciate natural elements, so there will often be indoor plants and wood furnishings to bring in a harmonious layer.

A Libra Dinner Table Setting

We combined a blue, green, and white color palette that we knew would appeal to Libra. To cater to the sign’s artistic side, we chose square plates. A blue and white hand-painted plate pops against a green plate and the dark blue napkin ties everything together nicely. The Plateau flatware, with its distinctive square beveled handles in a warm vintage gold finish, complements this plate stack beautifully.

A cobalt blue vase holds greenery and we added walnuts to a small green dish for a natural, earthy touch. Modern green and blue glassware accentuate this table setting.

Want to enhance your table with new artisan-crafted flatware? Look to the stars for inspiration! Our zodiac signs can reveal a lot about our personality, including the styles we prefer. Whether you're shopping for a wedding gift or want a rustic gold flatware set for yourself, we have a selection of artisanal flatware that has something for every sign. And if you need help deciding, just ask a Libra friend for a balanced view!
