About our Marbleware

History of Marble

Marble has had a place in architecture, art, and design for centuries. Sculptors chose this soft stone over limestone because it absorbed light before deflecting it. They believed this softer visual effect made famous statues like Michelangelo’s “David” look more realistic.

Proclaimed as one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal in Agra, India took 16 years to complete. During that time 20,000 marble setters and laborers worked on this world-famous mausoleum complex.

Handcrafted Marbleware

Our marble workshops are located in the Agra district, not far from the great Taj Mahal. In these Agra workshops, our skilled artisans use their skills to create beautiful marbleware products for the home and elegant gift-giving.

Marble throughout the home

Marble is a versatile and beautiful material that can be found in many areas of the home. For example, marble backsplashes can add sophistication to a kitchen, while marble countertops can lend a luxurious feel to both kitchens and bathrooms. Want guests to have a wonderful first impression of your home? Consider installing marble floor tiles in your entryway or foyer.

Furthermore, marble goes beyond architecture, with marble accents found throughout home décor items, including tabletops, vases, and other decorative objects.

Marbleware in the Kitchen

From marble home décor to marble kitchen tools, marble has special qualities that make it popular in the kitchen.

Heat-resistance: Ideal for crafting serving trays and cutting boards, marble is naturally heat-resistant. You can carry hot drinks with a marble tray or place a hot casserole or teapot directly on the tray without worry of damage.

Marble has the unique property of being heat-resistant to other objects while also being cool to the touch. This makes marble cheese boards and charcuterie boards a great choice for serving cheese, cured meats, and pickles as the marble keeps the food cool as you serve your guests.

Versatility: Marble pieces come in a variety of shapes and sizes to suit any sized kitchen. A round marble tray can be a decorative item on the dining table or Kitchen Island by day and a serving tray for appetizers and drinks by night.

Handcrafted Agra marble kitchen tools and table décor pieces make a lovely artisanal gift for weddings and anniversaries. Hallmark suggests a “stone” theme for the 24th wedding anniversary and what could be more elegant a gift than a marble slab tray with decorative handles on top? Our Marcella Marble Tray with Leaf Handles brings elegance and sophistication to any room and makes a thoughtful gift for any occasion.

Timeless appeal: Marble pieces never go out of style. Chances are your kitchen will undergo changes over time and you can count on your marble pieces and kitchen tools to always add style to the space.

Best Mortar and Pestle Sets

A mortar and pestle is a wonderful culinary tool for the kitchen. Handcrafted with care, our marble mortar with pestle sets are ideal for grinding and crushing herbs and spices. Each set includes a pestle that is smooth and easy to hold with a rough area at the base for pounding, grinding, and muddling. The mortar also has a smooth polished exterior with a rough interior.

Our best mortar and pestle sets are a must-have for the chef who loves to make pesto, chili paste, guacamole, and more. Crafted in beautiful green marble, our mini mortar and pestle sets are perfect for crushing whole spices and doing other important tasks on a small scale. The wider, shallower Bella White Marble Mortar Pestle Set allows for a greater range of motion when grinding and making delicious herb and garlic pastes.

Marble kitchen tools

Marble rolling pins are a great kitchen tool. For one, marble is naturally cool. Anyone working with dough that contains butter knows that once the butter warms, it gets sticky and too difficult to roll properly. Placing a marble rolling pin in the refrigerator to chill it before using it will prevent the softening of the butter in the dough and rolling it will be a breeze.

What’s more, marble is heavier, so when rolling there is no need to apply much pressure. And since you’re less likely to apply more pressure to one side, the result is an even uniform dough.

While rolling pins are great for those who love to bake, there are other marble kitchen tools for the chef. One such tool is a salt cellar or salt pig. You can learn about the history and culinary convenience of this seasoning container here.

From a rolling pin to a cutting board, marble kitchen tools are a great addition to your kitchen.
