Cocktails, as we know them, came onto the scene in 1862. Jerry Thomas, a flamboyant American bartender gets credit for creating those first cocktails.
The classic Margarita has been the top favorite for many years. We think that could change once people try the “Erminda’s Special”!

Key Ingredients
- 2 shots of vodka
- 10 ounces of cranberry juice
- 2- 3 ice cubes
- Approximately 2 ounces of club soda
- Lime slices and sugared cranberries for garnish
- Flavored ice cubes (optional): whole cranberries, mandarin orange pieces, rosemary sprigs, cranberry juice (or water)
Preparation Instructions
- If using flavored ice cubes make them beforehand and freeze them
- In a cocktail shaker combine cranberry juice, vodka and crushed ice.
- Shake ingredients well.
- Drop one flavored ice cube into each cocktail glass.
- Using your Hawthorne strainer, pour the cocktail mixture into the glasses.
- Splash approximately 1 ounce of club soda in each glass.
- Garnish the drink with a lime slice on the glass rim and a row of sugared cranberries on a cocktail pick.
