Caprese salad gets its name from the island of Capri, off the coast of Naples, Italy. The true Caprese salad doesn’t include balsamic vinegar or balsamic glaze but if you love the flavor, feel free to drizzle 1-2 teaspoons on top of the salad after you’ve assembled it. This version includes olives and marinated feta cubes which is another variation many people love!
